Eligibility Requirements
- The candidate should have earned a degree of graduation from some recognized university in any of the streams such as Science, Arts, Commerce, and technical subjects.
- The minimum and maximum age of the aspirant to apply for this examination is 21 years and 40 years.
- For the post of DSP, the age of the contender must be between 21 to 27 years on or before 1st January of the exam commencement year.
- Candidate must meet the below stated physical standard for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police:
- The height of the male applicant should be 170.18 cm, chest 33″, and chest expansion 34.5″.
- The height of the female applicant should be 157.50 in order to be eligible.

Examination Pattern
- The Preliminary Exam involves two papers consisting of Objective type (multiple choice questions).
- The examination will be of a total of 200 marks.
- Paper-I will have questions from General Studies for 100 marks and needs to be completed within 2 hours time duration.
- Paper II will have questions from an optional subject which will be chosen by the candidates from the list of 19 subjects. Furthermore, it will be for 100 marks for a duration of 2 hours.

Personality Test /Interview
After qualifying main examinations, candidates will be called to appear for the Personal Interview round i.e. the last stage of the selection process for the HPSC PSC Exam.
