Eligibility Required to apply for JEE Main
Before applying for JEE Main 2023, candidates need to go through the eligibility norms that are required.
- Indian and foreign national candidates can apply.
- There will be no age limit to apply for this exam.
- There will be no attempt limit.
- The candidates must have cleared class 12th from a recognized board in the year 2021 or 2022. Appearing candidates are also eligible.
- The candidates must have these subjects in the qualifying exam – Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject.
- For B.E./B.Tech- Candidates must have passed at least five subjects in class 12th – Physics & Mathematics (compulsory subjects), Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or any other technical/vocational subjects.
- For B.Planning- Clearing 10+2 with mathematics is mandatory.
- For B.Arch- Clearing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is compulsory.
- Candidates holding diplomas are also eligible to apply.
JEE Main 2023 Application Process
The application forms will be released soon. Applicants are advised to follow the given guidelines to fill the application form:
- The application mode will be online.
- Applicants can register themselves through the NTA website.
- Students can register themselves by providing their email id and valid mobile number.
- Candidates will have to provide their personal details such as name, father’s name, date of birth, nationality, gender, category, and educational details.
- Any incorrect information in the application form may lead to form rejection.
- Candidates need to upload their original and valid documents in the application form.
- Applicants have to make payment online through debit card/credit card, e challan of ICICI/Canara/Syndicate Bank.
Exam Pattern
- The examination comprises 2 papers i.e. paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech and paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Planning. Candidates will be provided with a choice, they can appear for paper 1 or paper 2 or both the papers.
- The exam mode will be online (CBT mode).
- The exam medium will be English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu, and Gujarati.
- 3 hours will be given to complete the exam. 1 hour extra will be provided to PWD candidates with 40% disability.
- The exam comprises of Objective types of questions.
- Each question will comprise 4 marks.
- Negative marking is applicable in this exam. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong response.
- Paper 2 drawing test in JEE Main will consist of subjective type questions.
