JNU which was established in the year 1969 is one of the very reputed universities in New Delhi and India. JNU will conduct admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs in the 2nd week of February 2023. Eligibility Criteria 

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • There will be minimum age criteria of 17 years as of 1st July for BA (Hons) courses. There are no age criteria for other courses.

BA (Hons) courses

  • Candidates should have secured 45% in class 12th from a recognized board.
  • Appearing candidates can also apply for JNU Admission 2021.

MCA

  • Candidates must have done graduation with 55% marks in mathematics.

For MTech

  • Candidates must have done engineering or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, and statistics from a recognized institute.

MA

  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree in any stream. He/She must have secured 55% marks in the qualifying exam.

Exam Pattern

Ph.D.: The candidates will be selected on the basis of their knowledge and awareness in the particular specialized area of their interest. The written test will consist of analytical and critical assessment-type questions.

B.A: The question will be from the subjects in the relevant graduation field.

B.Sc: The MCQ-type questions will cover topics from Physics, Mathematics, and Physical Chemistry of B. Sc. level.

B.A. (Hons.): The entrance test for B.A. (Hons.) foreign language course will include questions from General Knowledge, General English, and Elementary Knowledge section. The questions will be of MCQ type.

MCA: The questions will be covering topics from computer applications and Information Technology and it will be of MCQ type.

M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology:  There will be objective-based questions and the total number of questions will be 100. One mark will be awarded for every right answer. There will be negative marking, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.

Exam Syllabus

MCA: General aptitude and reasoning, mathematics and Computer Science.

M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology: General Reasoning and Bachelor’s/Master’s level Mathematics, Computer Science and general aptitude.

M.Tech in Statistical Computing: There will be two parts- Part A and Part B. Part A will comprise of reasoning, General aptitude, Statistics, Computer Science, and Bachelor’s/Master’s level mathematics. Part B will contain questions from data science.

MA in Economics: There will be questions from Microeconomics, Underdevelopment, and growth, Problems of Economic History, Descriptive Statistics, etc.

M.Sc in Life Sciences: There is No specific syllabus for M.Sc in Life Sciences.

BA (Hons) 1st Year in Foreign Languages: Candidates must be aware of general knowledge questions and artificial language etc.

JNU Application Form 2023

To apply online for admission, the candidates are required to login to the official website of JNU. Candidates are also required to upload the scanned image of their recent passport size photographs and signatures in JPG format.

The candidates are required to check all the necessary details before submitting the application form. After submitting the application form the applicants are advised to take the printout of the duly filled application form for future use. After that, the candidates are required to pay the application fee to complete the process application process. The application fee can be paid online through credit/debit card or net banking or offline through E-challan.

Candidates have a choice to apply for a maximum of three fields of study in the application form for the same level of the study program. Separate application forms will not be accepted by the authority.

Merit List

National Testing Agency is in charge of releasing the JNU 2023 merit list after the official declaration of the entrance examination results. The merit list/ selection list for admission to JNU involves the name of the candidates who have successfully passed the next round of admissions.
