Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry offers a master’s degree course in Public Health Entomology (M.Sc-PHE) and it conducts an admission process for this programme every year. Eligibility Requirements
Category I: Open Competition
Candidates seeking admission under category 1 should have passed any one of the following examinations from any Academic Council of Pondicherry University, Puducherry affiliated institute: B.Sc., in the discipline of Zoology / Biochemistry/ Environmental Science/ Ecology/ Microbiology/ Medical Laboratory Technology/ Life Sciences/ Botany, or B.V.Sc., or M.B.B.S., or B.Tech/ B.E., degree with Biotechnology as one of the subjects.
Those candidates who are going to appear for the Under Graduate final examinations or waiting for the final results of the above courses are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates need to produce evidence regarding the successful completion of the course. Moreover, they must fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
Category II: In-service (Sponsored/ Self- supporting)
Indian Nationals:
In-service applicants who are employed either in Government or Non-Government organizations and sponsored by the employer must possess a degree in any of the disciplines stated under Category I from any recognized University accredited by the Academic Council of Pondicherry University, Puducherry. The in-service applicants are required to post/ send their application with a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer.
Foreign Nationals:
The foreign nationals’ candidates must hold a degree in any discipline mentioned under Category I or its equivalent certificate acquired from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Such candidates will have to produce their eligibility certificate from Pondicherry University, Puducherry. The application form should be routed through the employer or sponsoring/electing authority/organization.
VCRC M.Sc Admission 2023 Application Form
Candidates can procure the complete step by step process for the VCRC Application form as given below:
- The application form for VCRC M.Sc 2023 has been released through online mode for admission to two years master’s course in Public Health Entomology.
- Candidates can fill the applications by downloading the form via the official website i.e. www.vcrc.res.in.
- Only eligible candidates will be able to fill the application form for M.Sc Admission.
- In the form, the basic information of the candidate is required such as student name, age, the birth of date, category & email id and qualification details, etc.
- After filling the form, applicants got to upload the scanned passport size photograph/signature in the specified space.

VCRC M.Sc Admission 2023 Seat Intake
VCRC M.Sc Seats intake for Admission 2023 is as follows:
- I Category: 8 (General applicants- 50.5%, OBC applicants- 27%; SC applicants- 15% & ST applicants- 7.5%)
- IIA Category: 2
- IIB Category: 2
VCRC M.Sc Admission 2023 Result
Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry will soon release the result for M.Sc Public Health Entomology Entrance Examination 2023 on their authorized web portal. Candidates can download the result from www.vcrc.res.in. In case, there is a tie of equal marks, then the preference will be given based on the candidate’s seniority in age.
VCRC M.Sc 2023 Selection Procedure
Selection of the candidates under Category I will be done considering their performance in the common entrance test (two hours duration) whereas for Category II-A: it will be based on an oral interview and Category II B will be based on a letter of recommendation/ reference from the head of the last attended institution/ department, in case the candidate is a student or the Employer.
Candidates will have to appear for both the common entrance test and oral interview at VCRC, Puducherry only and the date will be disclosed to the eligible applicants individually. The selection list of the eligible applicants will be published on the official website of the university i.e. www.vcrc.res.in.
