Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) conducts yearly entrance examination namely IGNOU OPENNET (Open Nursing Entrance Test). This examination is organized with the purpose of providing admission to nursing courses. The application form to apply will be released at the official website which is www.ignou.ac.in. Candidates who successfully register will be able to download the admit card for IGNOU OPENNET 2024 by entering their registered user name and password. We also advise the aspirants to generate a print the admit card as it is necessary to bring the hard copy of the same on the day of entrance exam. The exam will be organized in the second week of May 2024 in offline mode.
In service nurses who have passed intermediate exam along with 3 years of Diploma in General Nursing and 2 years of experience will be eligible to take up the exam. IGNOU OPENNET 2024 includes a total number of 120 multiple choice questions holding one mark each. The queries will be asked from various subjects such as General Knowledge, Reasoning Aptitude, General English, Mathematics and Science.

IGNOU OPENNET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Aspirants must be in-service nurses, i.e., Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM). OR
- They must have passed class 12th examination or any equivalent examination from a recognized educational board. OR
- Candidates should possess a three-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
- Appliers must have a minimum experience of two years in the nursing field.
IGNOU OPENNET 2024 Application Form
Students can easily register for IGNOU OPENNET 2024 just by following the guidelines below:
- Students can download the application form through the official website of IGNOU i.e. “www.ignou.ac.in” or he/ she can collect the same directly from Regional Centre IGNOU or by post.
- They need to send the Demand Draft of the amount INR 1050/- along with the completely filled application form.
- They should make sure that they fill the PSC/ RC code in their application forms of only those regional centres where PSCs for Post Basic Nursing are activated.
- They should submit the application form at the concerned regional centre only where Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is situated.
- Aspirants need to input all the details in the application form such as their name, educational qualification and age.
- If the students opt the online mode to fill the application form, then they must submit their application fees of amount INR 1000/- via credit card, internet banking or debit card.

Application Fees
- The application fee for IGNOU OPENNET is INR 1000/- at the cash counter.
- If student is paying via Demand Draft, they have to pay Rs. 1050/- and make a Demand Draft in favor name of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi NCR.
Exam Pattern
- The examination holds a total no. of 120 multiple choice questions.
- For every correct answer, students will get 1 mark.
- Time duration To complete the exam, they will be assigned a time duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.
- The queries will be asked from subjects like General Knowledge, Reasoning Aptitude, General English, Mathematics and Science.
Candidates will get an OMR sheet for marking their answers.
Results
IGNOU OPENNET 2024 Result will be available to check on the university official web page. Students who participated in the exam can check the result through online mode only. The result will be announced most likely in the 1st week of July 2024. As per the students result the authorities will prepare a merit list. Counselling
All the students who found their names in the merit list will be invited to appear for counselling. Such students need to carry all their documents for verification in original format. Counselling will take place at the respective IGNOU Regional centre considering the regional wise merit list.
