Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be a citizen of India, Bhutan, or Nepal.
- The applicants must have completed the graduation from any recognized university/college.
Candidates are required to fulfill the following physical standards for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police:
Minimum Height
- Men: 5 feet 7 inches
- Women: 5 feet 3 inches
Chest measurement (applicable for men only)
- Unexpanded: 33 inches
- Expanded: 34.5 inches
The age of the applicant must be between 21 years to 37 years.
The candidate’s age must be 28 years for the post of Deputy Superintendent Police in the Punjab Police Service.

PPSC 2023 Physical Test
For the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police and District Probation Officer (Jails)/Deputy Superintendent of Jails (Grade-II):
For Male Candidates
- Race – 1600 meters: To be completed within 07 minutes 30 seconds (in one attempt)
- Long Jump – Minimum 3.60 meters (Three attempts)
- High Jump – Minimum 1.15 meters (Three attempts)
- Vertical Rope – 2 Meters climb from the ground (Three attempts)
For Female Candidates
- Race – 800 meters: To be completed within 04 minutes 45 seconds (only one attempt)
- Long Jump – Minimum 3.00 meters (Three attempts)
- High Jump – Minimum 1.00 meter (Three attempts)
- Shuttle – Running between two parallel lines 10 meters separately, five times in 20 seconds (in one attempt)
