Eligibility Criteria

It is very crucial for all the aspirants to know the detailed eligibility criteria for the upcoming judicial services exams. Therefore, for the reference of candidates we have provided complete eligibility criteria below:

  • Only Indian nationality citizens are eligible to apply for the civil judge exam 2023 in India.
  • Lower Judiciary Services: Candidates having a degree in LL.B and enrollment as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961 are eligible to apply for the exam. No experience is required for the same. The age of the entrants must be between 21 to 35 years.
  • Higher Judiciary Services: Candidates with an LL.B degree are eligible for the exam. At least seven years of experience in litigation is required to be eligible. The contender’s age should be between 21 to 35 years.

Selection Procedure

The Selection Procedure for Judiciary Exam 2023 is carried out via three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam
  3. Viva- Voice/ Personal Interview

Preliminary Exams

The preliminary exam is the first stage of the selection procedure which is basically a screening test for the main exam. It includes all Multiple Choice Questions where candidates will get four options out of which one will be correct. The marks obtained by the aspirant in the preliminary exam will not be considered for the final selection. The minimum qualifying marks for 1st stage i.e. preliminary exam is 60% for the general category and 55% for the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Mains Exams

The Mains Exam comprises subjective-type questions. It contains three or four papers that are mandatory to attempt. The marks secured in this exam are taken into consideration by authorities during the final selection. For the viva voice round, the authorities will call a total of three times the number of vacancies.

Viva- Voice/ Personal Interview:

The last stage is the Viva- Voice i.e. Personal Interview round. It is the final round of selection where the authorities of examination will assess the aspirants on the basis of their personality, intelligence, and general interest among other factors.
