Eligibility Criteria

Particulars Eligibility
Nationality The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Educational qualification
  • For flying branch- Candidates should have passed their 10+2 with 50% marks each in maths and physics and they must have completed their graduation in relevant field with 60% marks by a recognized university.
  • Ground Duty (Technical branch) – Candidates should have completed their 10+2 in maths and physics with 50% marks (each)  and they must have completed their graduation/post-graduation in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university.
  • Ground Duty (Non- Technical branch) – Candidates must have completed their graduation/post-graduation in any field from a recognized university.
Age Criteria
  • Flying branch- The minimum age of the candidate should be 20 years.
  • For Ground Duty (Technical branch) – The minimum age of the candidate should be 20 years and the maximum age should be 26 years.
  • For Ground Duty (Non-technical branch) – Age limit for graduates must be 20-23 years and for postgraduates, it must be 20-26 years.

AFCAT 2023 Application Process

The application forms will be released soon. Applicants are advised to follow the given steps to fill the application form:

  • Step-1. Visit the official website of IAF careers page- www.careerairforce.nic.in.
  • Step-2. “AFCAT” notification will be available there.
  • Step-3. Select “Apply Online” on the home page.
  • Step-4. Fill in all the required information and also attach the scanned copy of the required documents along with a passport size photograph.
  • Step-5. Review the application form before submitting it and pay the application fee i.e. INR 250 (for all candidates) via debit card/credit card/net banking etc.
  • Step-6. Lastly, take a printout of the application form for further use.

Application Fee

In order to confirm the submission of your application form, the candidates have to make the payment of the application fee which can be done through online payment gateway (credit/ debit cards/ internet banking). Apart from this, candidates can make the payment via Challan (at any Axis Bank or HDFC Bank branch). Candidates should be aware that this is a non-refundable exam fee which will cost Rs. 250/- for AFCAT entry (not applicable for NCC special entry and meteorology).

AFCAT 2023 Exam Result

The AFCAT -1 Exam result will be announced through online mode in March 2023. Candidates can check the result by visiting the official website of AFCAT.

Steps to check the result are as follows:

  1. Go to the official site – www.afcat.cdac.in.
  2. Enter your email id and password.
  3. Check the result, download it, and take a printout of the same.

SSB Interview

There are 3 stages of SSB Interview:

STAGE-1. On the first day, the officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion test will be conducted.

STAGE-2. For the next five days, Psychological tests will be conducted on Day 1(Afternoon) and the Group Tests and interviews would be held after the document check.

STAGE-3. Applicants, who are applying for the flying branch, are needed to appear in the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS).
