Eligibility Criteria
| The candidate must be a citizen of India. |
| The candidate must have completed his/her graduation in any stream from a recognized university. |
| For the post of Sub Inspector, the candidate’s age should be in between 20-37 years. |
| For the post of Probation Officer, Labor Enforcement Officer, Rural Development Officer, Supply Inspector, Block SC & ST Welfare Officer, the candidate’s age should be in between 21-37 years. |
| For all other posts, the candidate’s age should be in between 22-37 years. |

BPSC Application form
Follow the steps given below to fill Bihar BPSC Application form:
- Visit the official website of Bihar BPSC- www.bpsc.bih.nic.in.
- Now, click on “Online Registration”.
- Then, click on the “Apply Online” button.
- A link to fee submission will be generated the next day at 11 am.
- After that, click on the “Online Payment” tab.
- The application fee for general/OBC will be INR 600/-.
- For SC/ST/PH and women, it will be INR 150/-.
- The next day, the form will be generated, fill the form with all your educational and personal details.
- Upload the signature and passport size photograph.
- Submit the application form.
- Take a printout of the application form.
Exam Pattern
Preliminary Exam
- This exam will be conducted offline mode.
- This will contain general studies paper (Objective and MCQs) of 150 marks with a duration of 2 hours.
Main Exam
- This will consist of 4 papers.
- Hindi exam will be of 100 marks-3 hours.
- General studies (paper-1) will be of 300 marks- 3 hours.
- General studies (paper-2) will be of 300 marks-3 hours.
- The optional subject will be 300 marks -3 hours.
- Candidates need to qualify for 30% marks in Hindi (these marks will not be considered during the preparation of the merit list).
- Candidates need to select one subject from the main examination for the optional subject.
Interview
Candidates who will qualify for the main exam will get an invitation for the interview.

- Current Events of National and International importance.
- General Science.
- History of India and salient features of the history of Bihar.
- General geography and geographical division of Bihar and its major river systems.
- Indian Polity.
- Economy, Major changes in the economy of Bihar post-independence.
- Indian National Movement and the contribution of Bihar.
- General Mental Ability.
Mains
Hindi –The paper will consist of questions on essay writing (30 marks), grammar (30 marks), sentence syntax (25 marks), and precis-writing/summary (15 marks). Questions will be of the Secondary Level of Bihar School Examination Board.
General Studies (Paper I) –Current events of national and international importance, the modern history of India and Indian culture, and statistical analysis, graphs & diagrams.
General Studies (Paper-II) –Indian Polity, India Economy and Geography of India, and the role and impact of science and technology in the development of India.
Optional Subject –Candidates have to select one of the optional subjects for this paper.
