NIT Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria
For Undergraduate Courses:
- Only Indian Citizens are eligible, however, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and foreign nationals will be eligible for NIT admissions.
- The authorities of NIT have not prescribed any age limit in order to get admission.
- Candidates should have studied a minimum of five subjects including Mathematics, Chemistry/ Physics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Language, Technical Vocational Subject and any other subject.
- As the NIT exam takes place two times a year, candidates will be able to participate in both the terms. They can take up JEE Main for three years consecutively, therefore, the candidates will get the total attempts for six in three years.
- It is necessary for the candidates to obtain at least 75% marks in their 10+2 examination or equivalent, or candidates should be in the top 20 percentile in 10+2 exams organized by the respective boards.
For Postgraduate Courses:
Admission to PG courses are the same as the GATE eligibility requirements. Check the details from the below section:
- Only a citizen of Indian nationality can apply for the admission to PG courses. However, candidates from the other countries can apply for GATE if they satisfy the given eligibility criteria.
- The officials have not set any age criteria.
- Also, the candidates need to complete or appear in their final year of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology (B. Tech/ B.E) or Postgraduate degree (M.Sc.) in any relevant science subject.
NIT Admission 2023 Application Form

Result
In order to get admission to NIT undergraduate courses, candidates need to pass the JEE Mains entrance exam. JEE main result basically comprises of normalized scores for all the three subjects along with the total normalized score obtained by the candidates in the exam. After the result is announced, All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to the students. In order to acquire the JEE main result for admission to National Institute of Technology Admissions 2023, candidates need to log in using the application number and date of birth/ password.
