Odisha Nursing Admission 2023 Application Form, Eligibility

Odisha Nursing Admission will be carried out under the Directorate of Nursing Odisha. The eligible candidates will be enrolled in various nursing courses such as ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) and GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery), Basic B. SC Nursing, Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing & M.Sc Nursing courses in all the INC recognized Govt. & Private ANM training centers in the state.

The seats will be allotted to the candidates based on the merit list prepared by the admission authority. The candidates who want to pursue nursing courses can apply for Odisha Nursing 2023.

The important dates mentioned above are based on last year’s prospectus. Hence, there may be some changes (if required) by the officials.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum age to apply for Odisha Nursing 2023 is 17 years.

Educational qualification for ANM Course

 The candidates must have passed 12th from CHSE Odisha or equivalent. OR

The candidates who have passed 12th conducted by the National Institute of Open School, (equivalent to CHSE Odisha) are also eligible to apply.

  • ASHA with a 12th passed degree is also eligible to apply for the ANM course.
  • For the ANM course, only female candidates are allowed to apply.
  • The candidates should have passed minimum M.E. standard Odia for all Govt. School of Nursing & 85% Govt. quota seats in private nursing institutes recognized by ONMRC.
  • The candidates who are physically handicapped with a locomotor’s disability of lower limbs from 40-50% only will be considered (provided they need to obtain their disability certificate from the competent authority of the concerned district).
  • On the other hand, the candidates with more than 50% locomotors disability will not be eligible to apply. Whereas, candidates with any other disability will only be eligible if they produce a genuine medical board certificate.

Educational qualification for GNM Course

The applicants must have cleared 12th scoring a minimum of 40% from CHSE Odisha or equivalent exam. However, Science is preferable. OR

12th passed with a minimum of 40% from state open schools recognized by state Govt. & National Institute of Open School having Central Govt. recognition. OR

12th vocational ANM course with minimum 40% from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council. OR

12th Health Science vocational stream from a recognized CBSE board/ state or center. OR

Registered from ANM with 12th pass.

  • 5% relaxation in marks will be provided to SC/ST candidates.
  • ASHA 12th passed with a minimum of 40% (5% relaxation for SC/ST) are eligible to apply for the GNM course.

Educational qualification for Basic B.Sc Nursing Course

  • The candidates must have cleared 12th or equivalent with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) from CHSE, Odisha, or any other equivalent Board.
  • The applicants who cleared the 12th exam in Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 45% can also apply for the Basic B.Sc Nursing course.
  • The applicants must have cleared in PCB & English subjects individually and must have scored a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the 12th examination (40% in case of SC/ST). English is a compulsory subject.
  • The candidates must have passed M.E. standard Odia for all Govt. Nursing Institutions & 85% Govt. quota seats in private Nursing Institutes recognized by ONMRC.
  • The candidates must be a domicile of Odisha but cut currently residing outside Odisha (for all Govt. school of Nursing & 85% Govt. quota seats in private nursing institutes recognized by ONMRC).
  • Both male & female candidates are eligible to apply (only 10% of seats are reserved for male candidates).
  • The physically handicapped candidates (having locomotors disability of lower limbs of 40-50%) will only be considered for admission.

Educational qualification for Post Basic Nursing Course

  • The candidates must be a domicile of Odisha (for all seats in Govt. college of Nursing & 85% Govt. quota seats in private institutions).
  • The applicants must be registered Nurse & Registered midwives of ONMRC or equivalent to any other state nursing council.
  • The minimum education qualification required is the General Nursing & Midwifery examination (conducted by ON&MEB Odisha) passed out.
  • The applicants who have registered their names in other state nursing councils then she will be allowed to participate in the state selection process. After admission, the selected candidates need to get registered under ONMRC & submit their reciprocal registration certificate at the respective college with 2 months from the last date of admission.
  • The applicants should be medically fit to apply for the course.
  • They must obtain a NOC from the appointing authority/ competent authority to undergo the course (for in-service candidates).
  • You must have passed minimum M.E. standard Odia (only for Govt. Institutions & 85% Govt. quota seats in Private Institutions).
  • Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the course.

Educational qualification for M.Sc Nursing Course

  • The applicants must be a domicile of Odisha (for all seats Govt. college of Nursing & 85% Govt. quota seats in Private institutions).
  • The applicants should be a registered Nurse & Midwifery of ONMRC or equivalent of any other state nursing council.
  • The minimum educational qualification should be B.Sc Nursing/ Post Basic Nursing scoring a minimum of 55% from a recognized institution.
  • The applicants who have registered their names in other state nursing councils then she will be allowed to participate in the state selection process. After admission, the selected candidates need to get registered under ONMRC & submit their reciprocal registration certificate at the respective college with 2 months from the last date of admission.
  • Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing or one year experience before or after post-Basic B.Sc Nursing.
  • Work experience of 1-year either in the teaching or clinical field will also be considered.

  • The candidates can get the application forms from the official website of the Director of Nursing Odisha.
  • You can visit the official website of B.Sc Nursing Odisha & apply online from there.
  • The application form can also be obtained through offline mode from the nearest center i.e. from CSC (Common Service Centre), Gram Panchayat level/ Community Health Centre (CHC), Block level/ CDM & PHO office at District level.
  • The candidates can download the form of B.Sc Nursing Odisha 2023 from the official website.
  • First of all, you need to do the registration before filling up the registration form.
  • For registration, you have to provide your valid Email Id & password.
  • After successful registration, you will get the application form on your screen.
  • In the application form, you need to fill in all the necessary details as required.
  • After filling up the application form, you also have to upload the necessary documents.
  • Now you can click on submit for submission of your form.

Application Fee

The appearing candidates have to pay the application fee which is mandatory for all the candidates. They can pay the application fee through online or offline mode as per their preference. The application fee is different for different courses.
