Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

The authorities have not set any age limit for the candidates to appear for test.

For Primary Level (Class I to V)

Candidates should have passed senior secondary (12th) or its equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate or pursuing the final year of a two-year diploma course in elementary education.

For Elementary Level (Class VI to VIII)

Applicants must have done graduation or pursuing the final year of a 2-year diploma in elementary education. It is necessary to have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

CTET 2023 Application Form

  • The application form will be available in the month of February 2023 on the official web portal of CBSE.
  • Candidates are advised to submit the application form before the last date.
  • Candidates have to visit the official website i.e. www.ctet.nic.in. to fill the application form.
  • Click on the “Apply Online” link to start the application process.
  • Firstly, read all the instructions carefully and then click on the link -“Proceed to Apply Online”
  • After that fill the entire application form and provide each and every detail required in the application form.
  • The applicants are required to fill the application form completely and correctly.
  • Candidates must not leave any field blank.
  • Candidates also need to upload a scanned passport size photograph and signature according to the mentioned specifications in the application form.
  • Applicants will have to make payment of the required application fee in order to complete the application process.
  • Submit the application form and do not forget to take its printout for future use.

Application fee

  • Candidates belonging to the General/OBC (NCL) category will have to pay Rs.2200 for both the papers (papers 1 and 2).
  • SC/ST/PH candidates will be required to pay Rs.1100 for both the papers (papers 1 and 2).
  • The application fee can be paid using debit/credit card, e-Challan (electronic), and net banking.
  • The application fee is non-refundable.

Exam Pattern

The exam will consist of objective-type based questions. It will have 2 papers in total.

  • The duration will be of 2.30 hours for both the papers (paper 1 and 2)
  • Paper 1 and 2 will have a total number of 150 questions.
  • 1 mark will be awarded for each correct response.
  • There will be no negative marking in the exam.

  • Mathematics: Series, Geometry, Volume, Time & Work, Division, Language of mathematics, Community Mathematics, Patterns and Problems of Teaching, Data handling, etc.
  • Environmental Studies: Travel, scope & significance of EVS, Water, food, shelter, Family and Friends, Learning Principles, Concept, etc.
