HPCET 2024: On a yearly basis, Himachal Pradesh Technical University organizes and manages an entrance test at the state level. With the assistance of this entrance examination, candidates can seek admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as B.Pharm, B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, MBA, etc. However, to get admission in the same, candidates will have to apply for HPCET through the official website of the conducting body.

Filling out the application doesn’t guarantee admission to the candidates. For this, aspirants are required to pass the exam. The Himachal Pradesh Technical University will conduct separate exams for each program or course. The application form will be released by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) after the publishment of the official notice on their official website. For this examination, 50% of the seats are reserved for JEE Main qualified candidates, and the rest of the 50% of seats will be filled via HPCET.

Eligibility Requirements

For B. Tech

Those who have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Mathematics and any one of the Biology/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subjects with an aggregate of 45% minimum marks (40% for SC/ ST candidates) in the mentioned subjects.

For B.Pharmacy

Candidate should clear 12th equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and any of the Biotechnology/ Mathematics/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects. It is obligatory for the entrant to have secured at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved category candidates) in the above-mentioned subjects. The age of applier should exceed 17 years as on or before 31st December 2024.

For MBA/ MBA (T & HM)

A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) is required by the applicant.

For MCA

Entrant must possess a 3 years duration bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) as well as he/ she has studied Mathematics at the 12th or graduation level.

HPCET 2024 Application Form

  • The application form will only be derivable in online mode on the official website of the university for the applicants.
  • Applicants got to register by making a new ID on the official website of the university.
  • Post the completion of registration, candidates will be able to receive a singular login Id and password on their phone number or mail id as provided.
  • Save the login credentials i.e. Id and password because they will be required in the future additionally.
  • Then, click on the application form link to fill-up the form.
  • Input all the necessary details within the sort of personal, educational, instructional, communication connected, and lots of additional info in the form.
  • Next, upload scanned pictures of photographs and signatures according to the introduced specifications.

Application Fee

Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Examination: Offline mode (OMR Sheet Based Exam).
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours for B. Pharmacy/ B. Tech/ B. Pharmacy (Ayurveda) and 2 hours for the rest of the programs.
  • Type of Questions: Objective type MCQ only.
  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will receive 2 marks for each correct answer in B. Pharmacy/ B. Tech/ B. Pharmacy (Ayurveda)/ M. Pharmacy/ M. Tech./ MCA / MBA / MBA( T&HM ) queries papers and 1 mark will be awarded for each right answer in the rest of the course’s paper.
  • Negative Marking: A provision of -1/4th of the marks for each wrong answer is there.

Results and Counseling

The result will be announced on the official website of the conducting body. Aspirants must keep checking the official website for the release dates of the result. You can easily download the result from the specified web portal. Enter credentials such as the participant’s application ID and password to obtain the conclusion. Checking the result will enable the candidates to know their qualifying status. The conducting board will prepare and set forth a list to choose the candidates for the remaining 50% seats in the courses. The officials will announce the counseling schedule. Each and every qualifying candidate should certainly attend counseling to lock their choice of institutions and courses. Candidates will get seats only on the premises of their preference given during the counseling, and their rank in merit.
