INDIAN AIR FORCE (IAF) invites applications every year for unmarried male citizens of India and Nepal. The official notification will be released for Airmen in Group “X” and Group “Y” Trades soon. The entrance examination is scheduled to be held in the month of July. However, the online registration starts in the month of January 2023.  Consequently, those aspirants who want to join Airman in Group X (Technical) and Group Y (Non-Technical except IAF (P), IAF (S), Musician, GTI, Automobile Technician) can apply online for these posts before the due date.

Indian Air Force X, Y Group Recruitment 2023 Important Dates

Eligibility Requiements

Age Limit:

The applicant must have been born between 16 July 2003 to 30 July 2007. In case a candidate clears all the stages then the upper age limit will be 21 years.

Educational Qualifications:

Group ‘X’ (Technical).

• Applicant should have passed class 12^th with Physics, Mathematics, and English as main subjects from any recognized educational board listed as COBSE member.
• The candidate must have obtained 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks separately in English.
  OR
• He/ she must have passed three years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream, from any polytechnic institute recognized by the government with 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English.

Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {Except IAF (S) and Musician, IAF (P), GTI, Automobile Technician} Trades.

• Applicant should have cleared 12^th or equivalent in any stream/subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards.
• The minimum required marks are 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant Trade.

The aspirant should pass class 12^th examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English separately.

Groups ‘X & Y’ (For both Technical and Non-Technical)

• Those who have successfully passed the intermediate examination in Mathematics, Physics, and English with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English are eligible.
• Candidates will appear for the exam for Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’ subjects in one sitting.
• Candidates can qualify for Group ‘X’ or Group ‘Y’ or both i.e. if the candidate passes in Physics, Mathematics, and English, then he is considered to pass in Group ‘X’ and if he passes in General Awareness, Reasoning, and English then he will be considered pass in Group ‘Y’.
• If the applicant is passed in all four subjects, then he will be considered to pass in Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’. Diploma holders can only take up the exam for Group ‘X’.

• Applicants got to apply for the recruitment process via online mode. Just visit the official website i.e. www.careerindianairforce.cdac.in for online registration & candidates must read all the guidelines for filling up / dispatching of the application form.
• Candidates will also have to upload a few documents as asked in the application form. The documents/ certificates must be uploaded in the specified formats.
• Later, they can make the payment of the application fee via internet banking, debit card, or credit card.
• The application fee is Rs. 250 for all category candidates.

Pay & Allowances

During training, contenders will be paid a stipend of Rs. 14,600//- per month.

After completion of training the salary is as follows:

• Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades: Rs. 33,100/- per month (approx).
• Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Trades: Rs. 26,900/- per month (approx).
