JKPSC KAS 2023 Exam Date, Application Form, Eligibility, Exam Pattern

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is responsible for conducting JKPSC KAS Exam. This exam is commenced each year for appointing applicants for profuse government jobs in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The official authority will release the application forms online through the official website of JKPSC. The notification for the same will also be published in advance on the official website. Additionally, the applicants should make sure that they meet the minimum eligibility criteria for JKPSC KAS before beginning the application process for the examination. The examination for the JKPSC KAS 2023 will be divided into three stages i.e. Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam & Personal Interview.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of the Jammu & Kashmir State.
  • He/ She should be holding a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • The applicant’s age must be between 21 years to 32 years.
  • Those applying for the post of Gazetted Police Service must fulfill the minimum physical fitness requirements as provided below:

Exam Pattern

The examination will take place in three stages. It is divided into three phases namely Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam & Personal Interview. The aspirants are required to qualify for all the three stages/ levels in order to get recruited at any of the posts under KAS .The exam pattern is given below:

Phase-I: Preliminary Exam

The preliminary exam will be consisting of all objective-type questions. It will have two papers carrying a total of 450 marks. The Preliminary Exam is qualifying in nature; therefore its scores will not be added while preparing the final results. It will be held in the English language only and the exam needs to be solved within 2 hours. The preliminary Exam will not have a provision of negative marking.

Phase-II: Mains Exam

The second phase is the main exam, only prelims qualified candidates can appear for the mains test. The marks acquired by an applicant in the mains test will be taken into consideration while preparing the final merit list. It will be consisting all descriptive-type questions. There will be a total of 9 papers out of which 2 papers will be qualifying in nature. The candidate’s marks in the remaining 7 papers will be considered while preparing the final merit list. Each paper will be conducted for three hours. The medium of question papers, excluding the language papers, will be English. Mains Exam will be carrying a total of 1750 marks.

Phase-III: Interview

The applicants have to appear for the Personal Interview round that will be organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission. Only those candidates who qualify the Mains Exam will be eligible for the Interview round.

The interview conducting authority will judge the mental caliber of the applicants. The candidate’s intellectual qualities, social traits, and general interest in current affairs will be assessed. The contenders failing to secure the minimum marks in more than one subject will not be called for an interview round.

JKPSC KAS 2023 Results

The results announcement will be done by the authorities in online mode through their official website. The results will be declared after the commencement of each stage. However, the scores of the Preliminary Exam will not be considered by the officials while preparing the final results. Only the marks scored by the candidates in the Mains exam and Interview round will be taken into consideration while preparing the final results.
