The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the competent authority that is accountable for organizing the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination 2023. This exam will recruit qualified candidates under the department of Indian Economic Service officers and Indian statistical service officers. Eligibility Requirements
Academic Qualification:
- Candidates should have completed their Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Econometrics/ Business Economics from a recognized university to be eligible for the post of Indian Economic Services (IES) exam.
- For the post of Indian Statistical Services (ISS) exam candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/ Applied Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized institute or possess a master’s degree in Statistics/ Applied Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics from a recognized institute/ university.
Age Limit:
The age of the applicant should be between 21 years to 30 years. The age limit for certain categories is given below:
- ST/SC: 5 years
- Other backward classes (OBC): 3 years
- Defense Services Personnel who is disabled in operations: 3 years
- Ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and SSCO/ ECO who have given at least five years in Military Service: 5 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
- SSCOs/ ECOs who have completed an assignment of five years of Military Service: 5 years

UPSC IES/ISS 2023 Application Form
The application form for UPSC IES/ISS 2023 will be available online mode at the official website of UPSC- www.upsconline.nic.in. Candidates can visit this site and register themselves for the exam. While filling up the application form, they will have to provide all the necessary educational, personal, and contact details as mentioned in the official documents candidates. Along with the details, applicants are required to upload scanned copies of their passport size photograph and signature in the given formats.
The candidates should keep a copy of the duly submitted UPSC IES/ISS 2023 application form for future reference. However, there is no need to send the hard copy of the application form to the authorities of UPSC.
Application Fee
The application form will not be accepted unless the candidate pays the prescribed application fee. The candidates can pay the application fee using any of the options such as Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card or SBI internet banking or by cash at any branch of SBI using Pay-in-slip.

UPSC IES/ISS 2023 Result
The applicants who take up the UPSC IES/ISS 2023 exam will be able to check their results from the official website of UPSC- www.upsc.gov.in. The result will be made available in the form of a PDF file. The candidates have to search their names in the PDF file in order to obtain the result. The nominated candidates will then be required to submit the Detailed Application Form (DAF).
The original documents of the candidates will be verified at the time of the Interview only, therefore students have to produce every document to the officials. The successful candidates can further download their interview letters from the official web portal of UPSC.
