RPF SI Exam or Railway Protection Force Sub Inspector exam is organized by the Ministry of Railways. All male and female candidates can take part in the RPF SI recruitment process. The ministry of Railways conducts this exam for the post of Sub Inspector. Selected candidates can be appointed in any of the zones. For now, there is a total no of 21 recruitment boards under different zones. These boards organize many exams which are specific to their areas and zones. A total no. of 6 groups is there for different zones. Eligibility Requirements
Nationality
- To appear in RPF SI Exam, candidates need to be of Indian nationality.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates who graduate in any discipline can apply for the RPF SI Exam. The degree must be gained from a recognized institute/ university.
- Those who have given their final exams of graduation and are awaiting results should not apply for the recruitment exam.

Age Limit
Candidates aged between 20 years to 25 years are eligible to apply for this post. There will be age relaxation for SC/ST candidates of 5 years, 3 years for OBC candidates. Age relaxation for ex-servicemen will be based on their service in the armed forces and category. Widows, separated or divorced women will also get age relaxation.
RPF SI 2023 Application Process
The application mode of RPF SI will be online. It can be found at the official portal www.indianrailways.gov.in. Aspirants can only fill one application structure at a time. In the application form of RPF SI, candidates have to provide their details of education, personal, communicational, parent’s details, etc. They have to upload requisite documents such as photos in recommended measurements in the form. Before making the payment of the application fee, all the details must be thoroughly checked by the applicant. Upon submitting the application, a print of the application form must be taken and kept secure for future uses.

Exam Pattern
The recruitment exam for SI is conducted in three parts-
- Computer-Based test
- Physical Efficiency test
- Physical Measurement test
Computer-Based Test: The syllabus of CBT is divided into 3 parts i.e. General Awareness, Numeric ability or Arithmetic Reasoning Ability. The examination will be conducted for 90 minutes and there will be only one paper. In the paper, candidates can opt for any languages among the mentioned languages below:

Candidates will need to secure 35% marks to clear the exam whereas SC/ ST category should score 30% marks.
Physical Efficiency Test: Physical Efficiency Test consists of the following tests:
- High Jump- 3 feet 9 inches for male applicants.
- High Jump -3 feet for female applicants.
- Long Jump- for male candidates.
- Long Jump- for female applicants.
- Male candidates have to complete a 1600m run under 6 min 30 sec.
- Female candidates have to complete 800 m run under 4 min.
- Ex-servicemen applicants shall be exempted from the physical efficiency test. However, they are required to undergo physical measurement tests.
Physical Measurement Test: Only candidates who clear the Physical Efficiency Test will be eligible to undergo for Physical Measurement Test. Chest measurement will be done only for male candidates. Male candidates need to fulfill the minimum height requirement, otherwise, they will be disqualified. It must be clarified that PET and PMT are qualifying tests.
RPF SI 2023 Result
The result for the online test will be published online at the authorized website only. After the result for CBT (computer-based exam) is published online; candidates will be further notified regarding their physical tests and measurement.
Candidates who clear both the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test will further have to undergo a medical exam and document verification process. All the candidates are advised to keep their phones and email ids active as the Ministry will send important details related to exams/ results on the registered number and email id only.
